December 2024 Edition
Dear Refuge,
Christmas season is in full swing. It is the season of the lights, the music, the gifts, the gatherings, the food, and all the things that make Christmas special. Let’s just make sure we don’t forget about Jesus. The old saying goes like this: “Jesus is the Reason for the Season!” It’s not wrong. The problem we face today, is that Jesus is either squeezed out or squeezed into our schedules and plans altogether, depending on how you look at it.
Here is my challenge to you this Christmas season. Make it ALL about JESUS. When you look at the lights, think about the glory of Jesus. When you sing your songs, sing about and to Jesus. When you give or receive gifts, compare them to the greatest gift that has ever been given, which of course is Jesus. When you gather together and break bread, make much of Jesus. Get the idea?
So, let’s follow the words of Paul when he told the church of Corinth. “Whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians' 10:1
And never forget, we are the representatives of Jesus, His Ambassadors, to the world. And that starts with your family, friends, neighbors, workmates, and those you run into in the course of the day. Let’s shine our lights brightly this Christmas season. You may be the only “Jesus” they see.
Until the whole world hears,
Pastor Scott

TOMORROW NIGHT....
Our weather has been..... different!
One thing they always say is if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes! We are rainy then it's second spring and lately, Old Man Winter has been bitterly cold! Well sooner or later we are going to see sleet and snow, and when we do, if it turns hazardous, we will send out a text message, email and post on our Facebook page any schedule changes. So again, make sure your email and phone number is up to date! If you aren't receiving our texts or emails and would like to sign up, you can create a free ChurchTrac account through that same QR code above or email Kim Spencer.

Refuge has five Missional Communities (MC's), these are our version of small groups. We believe that everyone who calls Refuge home should find an MC to belong to! These are your people, your family to live life-on-life with!
