
Pastor Scott Carlson
Pictured here is our founder, Pastor Scott Carlson along his wife Sarah, also known as Honey by her grandchildren and most of the people here at The Refuge Owasso.
Scott was born and raised on farm just west of Enid, Oklahoma, with his brother and parents, before moving to the town of Hobart in the Southwestern part of Oklahoma. There, Scott went to school, where he graduated high school, class of 1980.
After that, Scott continued his education and graduated with B.A Degree in Biblical Studies at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida, in 1985. In 1988, he graduated with a Masters in Theology from South Western Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Then in 2008, he completed his Doctorate of Ministry at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kanas City, Missouri.
On July 20, 1985, Scott married the former Sarah Ashworth.
Scott & Sarah have since had 3 kids, 1 son in law, 2 grand dogs, and several grandchildren who call them Popo and Honey.
Pastor Scott has been on staff at a number of churches since 1981 and has been fulltime lead Pastor for more than 3 decades.
He's become the lead Pastor of FBC of Lantana Florida, FBC of Macon, MO, Central Baptist Church in Owasso and has been with The Refuge here in Owasso since its founding in 2020.
